Adonis Stevenson asked the crowd in Quebec after his TKO win over Tony Bellew did they want to see him fight Carl Froch or Bernard Hopkins. The crowd reaction that?
SILENCE
The crowd didn’t want Froch or Hopkins, they want Sergey Kovalev.
Unless Stevenson wants to be known for ducking an opponent, the only fight that needs to be made in 2014 is against Kovalev who brutally destroyed Ismayl Sillakh on the undercard.
Stevenson and Kovalev are the best two light heavyweights in the world and both are brutal KO artists who rarely have a fight go the distance.
To determine who is the best they have to fight each other in the ring. Kovalev seems to be ready, Stevenson seems to be a little leery.
It could be Stevenson wants to cash some more easy big checks before putting himself at risk against Kovalev (Stevenson started boxing at older age and is already 36 years old) or he just doesn’t want to get into the ring with Kovalev, but HBO and the promoters want it to happen, so it probably will.
If it does it will be must see TV.
