Geno Smith may have just gotten Rex Ryan fired, but at least he’s man enough to admit it.

Smith was extremely candid after the Jets 30-20 loss to the Panthers that left them at 6-8 and staring at a third straight non playoff season.

Geno Smith has 21 interceptions on the season, and only Eli Manning has thrown more. ┬áSmith and the Jets know Rex Ryan is hanging on by a thin thread, and according to the Star Ledger, Geno Smith apologized for as he put it, “letting Rex down today.”

“I feel as though I let Rex down today,” Smith said. “He had talked to me about not having a turnover, playing a game without a turnover, and I wanted to do that today.”
