We have reported on so many negative stories during the NFL Lockout, it is nice to see a positive story like the one about 2 time Super Bowl Champion Jarvis Green.
Here is a bit of a the back story.
Jarvis Green, a veteran defensive lineman for our Houston Texans, and former two-time Super Bowl Champion has come a long way from his roots in the small town of Donaldsonville, LA. The former LSU Construction Engineering graduate virtually runs through his opponents on the field, racking up sacks and causing fumbles. With his many accomplishments, and countless accolades; the NFL veteran remains humble.
As a devoted servant to the less fortunate, Green founded The Jarvis Green Foundation in 2007 to provide support to single-working mothers in disadvantaged, low-income areas (i.e., Hurricane Katrina single mothers). The mission of The Jarvis Green Foundation, a non-for-profit 501(c)3 organization is to provide support to single working mothers in disadvantaged, low-income areas whose lives have been affected by tragedy. Since the inception of the TJGF, Green has hosted several charitable events which include his annual wine tasting in Baton Rouge, La.
