Although Manchester United is going through their worst season in decades, Nike is still eager to continue their fruitful partnership according to a report courtesy Metro via the Sunday Express. The deal is said to be worth $1 billion over the next decade.
Nike’s current contract with the Red Devils expires in 2015 and the sportswear giants are willing to pay through the nose to continue their long link-up.
A report in the Sunday Express claim the firm are ready to commit roughly £70m a year for a further 10 seasons
That would add up to a huge £700m, roughly $1.1billion, windfall for the Premier League champions.
That deal easily surpasses Adidas’ lucrative $51 million-a-year contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid. Other brands were vying to steal the current English champions away from Nike which is probably why the deal has reached such record-breaking heights.
