The Houston Texans might not be sold on taking a QB #1 in the draft.
New Head Coach Bill O’Brien and the Texans are said to have a strong interest in bringing in Matt Cassel and taking the best available player in the draft (Clowney?). This comes from Ian Rapoport:
When Matt Cassel opted out of his deal with #Vikings, it made him a FA. The interest from his Pats connection Bill O’Brien & #Texans is real

This is interesting. If O’Brien and company believe they can get something out of Cassel and use him until they can land a true franchise QB, then it makes sense. However, if one of the top QBs goes on to be great and they are stuck with average QB play this will look awful.
Perhaps things are getting interesting at the top of the draft.
