Josh Brent was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years probation for the vehicular homicide of his teammate Jerry Brown back in 2012.
He is scheduled to be released in July and the Cowboys aren’t ruling out signing him once the NFL decides what punishment to hand down.
“The league will have a big say in when he can come back, but we’ll certainly evaluate that situation when it comes,” executive vice president Stephen Jones said at the Cowboys’ annual sponsors’ golf tournament. “I certainly wouldn’t rule it out.”
The Cowboys could use all the help they can get defensively, but no need to speculate until Brent is reinstated.
