LeBron wants to win a title now.
Simply put, Love helps him more right now than Wiggins. Wiggins could turn out to be a great player, but Love is a great player currently and he is only 25 years old. This isn’t trading a young guy for an old vet on his last legs, this is trading a talented prospect for an established young impact player.
In my mind it is a no-brainer and what LeBron wants, LeBron gets. Here are the details from Cleveland Herald.
A league source said on July 17 that the Cavs are now willing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft.
Up until this point, it was assumed the Cavs wanted to hang onto Wiggins, largely because of comments made by Coach David Blatt.
However, a source said James wants the 6-10, 250-pound Love on the roster.
The Cavs with Wiggins are a strong contender in the EAST, the Cavs with Love are the hands down favorite in the EAST.
Yes, it is a gamble, Wiggins could become a Hall of Fame player, but the most important word is COULD. Cavs can’t afford to be wrong with Wiggins, when they know what they get with Love.
Small tidbit, Wiggins has yet to sign his rookie deal because if he does he can’t be traded for 30 days.
