Taylor admitted shooting his cousin, the details surrounding why he shot him are a bit in doubt, but the DA feels there is a enough evidence to charge him with a crime.
Arkansas prosecutors have charged champion middleweight boxer Jermain Taylor in a shooting at his home.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports the 36-year-old Little Rock native was charged Wednesday with first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies say Taylor shot his 41-year-old cousin, Tyrone DaWayne Hinton of Jacksonville, at Taylor’s home in Maumelle on August 26.
While waiting to see if he would be charged, Taylor won a middleweight title belt in a unanimous decision victory on October 8th.
If convicted he faces 26 years in prison.
