The San Francisco 49ers could end up hiring a player friendly coach to take the team to a Super Bowl. They could also regret the day they didn’t provide Jim Harbaugh with the power he desired inside the organization.
During his press conference following the 49ers’ win over the Cardinals, Gore said that he will wait until a new staff is hired before making a decision about his future.
“I can still play this game,” Gore said, “and I want to be back here.”

Immediately after the ballgame, Harbaugh and the Niners agreed to mutually part ways. Gore finished among the top 10 players in the NFL in rushing during every season with Harbaugh except this final one. After the game, Harbaugh and Gore shared a heartfelt embrace, and Gore’s son even asked Harbaugh to stay.
Post-game locker room, Harbaugh approached Frank Gore's sons, said "Your dad's the best guy ever." One of them replied "Please don't leave."
