How much power does Manny Pacquiao have left?
Pacquiao’s last TKO was in November of 2009 against Miguel Cotto. Since that time Pacquiao has knocked people down but never has shown the type of knockout power that had has lesser weights. Mayweather has been in the ring with some pretty hard punchers as of late (Maidana, Cotto, Canelo & Guerrero) and has shown a pretty sturdy chin. Pacquiao still believes he can hurt Mayweather according to Boxing News 24.
“If I hurt him [Mayweather]. I expect him to run. Otherwise he might fight me toe-to-toe,” Pacquiao said.
Boxing News 24 points out (and this is how you can tell they do indeed watch boxing 24/7) that Mayweather when hurt tends to hold, not run. His general plan when he feels he is in danger is to tie his opponent up and get out of danger.
Mayweather will be the bigger man in the ring, so while he will use movement I don’t think you will see him move as much when fighting Pacquiao. It will be more subtle movements to get in a position to counter more than anything else.
