Andrew Hawkins rarely shies away from speaking his mind when it concerns the lack of positive images of black men, especially in athletes. Today was no different. Father’s Day is meant to celebrate that great man in your life. Whether he raised you traditionally or non, its meant to tell him how much he means to you. On social media, athletes and major networks alike all paid their respects to great dads, but one major network might have dropped the ball.
You get a D for diversity RT @ESPNNFL: Happy Father's Day to all the NFL Dads out there. pic.twitter.com/AfIU8wZ3KN

ESPN tweeted a picture collage of dads of the NFL, but there was only one representation of a black dad. There wasn’t any diversity and Andrew Hawkins voiced his opinion to ESPN, they failed. The NFL is about 70%black. Either ESPN should have done multiple collages or individual; their lack of showing diverse fathers is troubling. Despite what social media may tell you, there are many great dads of color. Since there wasn’t much of that representation, check out the gallery and see some awesome dads!
Happy Father’s Day!
