“Watch, listen and then speak.”
A professor told me that once at The Ohio State University. He said my brain moved too fast and I often just said the first thing that came into my head on a subject. He pointed out that is how most people operate which is why many times we all say the same things when something happens.
He told me a good journalist takes looks at things from a broader scope, a bigger picture so to speak. So, what I try to do when something big happens is don’t say much of anything, just pay attention to what is happening and then express my thoughts in a very clear and concise manner.
What I saw, read and heard yesterday was a bunch of hypocrisy.
If Bruce now Caitlyn Jenner wants to be a woman, more power to her. Frankly, that is none of my business and people should do whatever makes them happy.
That should be the central theme to everything in life correct?
DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY….
If that is the case why as a society are we so judgmental of everyone, why are we still such a racist and prejudice society?
I saw many people championing Ms. Jenner, but 10 minutes later were back to slandering everyone from LeBron, President Obama and just random people living their lives. That is the hypocritical nature of our society, many are selective supporters when it fits in with the mob mentality, which brings me to second part of the hypocrisy.
The reasons they are called opinions are because they are your own beliefs. We are an embrace the debate society now, so you can’t just say that’s my opinion without 1000 people wanted to debate the point, but often times I find people will only respect your opinion IF it falls in line with their opinion. If you make a concise opinion, I am not going to debate you. If you think LeBron is better than Jordan, ok? Why do we need to spend 12 hours talking about what you think?
If Bruce Jenner transforming into a woman makes you uncomfortable, you don’t agree with it or you will always recognize her as Bruce, that shouldn’t cause you to be harassed and called a transphobic. To be frank I can totally understand people having a hard time grasping the concept of what she is doing. Depending on your religion, upbringing or just your personal feelings on the issue, you might not understand it, if you are open to learning more that’s awesome, but if not as long as you are being respectful, you should be able to feel how you want. If you are someone who is bashing someone for that, you are no better than the real ignorant people out there who are bashing Ms. Jenner disrespectfully, you are the same person.
Just because you don’t agree with a lifestyle, doesn’t make you homophobic, a racist, transphobic or anything, you simply might just don’t agree. As long as you treat people with respect that is all that matters. People shouldn’t be afraid to speak their mind because they are going jumped on by a pack a wild social media wolves. The real evil people are easy to spot, there are a lot of people who just have a differing opinion on things, with no malice intended.
I don’t think Michael Sam is special because he is gay, so I talk about him just like he is a regular football player. He gets more attention because he is gay, but to me that is no different the Johnny Manziel getting more attention because he’s known as Johnny Football, doesn’t make them special, they just have more reasons for the media to cover them. Does that make me homophobic, absolutely not, but I am not going to treat Michael Sam any differently than I treat any other football player because he is gay. Once again that is the opposite of equality IN MY OPINION.
While I don’t have any issue with Ms. Jenner, my hope would be especially if you are African-American, that if you support her, you are also supporting black people who are gay and transgender. There has been an uptick of transgender murders in the black community that hasn’t been getting enough attention. Ms. Jenner is getting an ESPY and probably a bunch of other awards. While a lot of that is just for ratings (I understand I am in the media), she should use that platform not just for herself but raise awareness because so many Transgenders do not have the support, finances or acceptance that she has received. She doesn’t have to do it, but it would be nice for her to recognized the privilege she has doesn’t trickle down to most of the Transgender community. Because she is privileged, it is unlikely a famous black transgender would have been accepted so readily by society.
So, just remember when you are telling Ms. Jenner to slay and all that good stuff, don’t be a hypocrite just because people don’t agree with it. As long as they are being respectful in their disagreements and not name calling or bashing, they are entitled to feel however they want just like you are.
Stop saying stupid stuff like this.
Caitlyn out here looking too good for these ni$$as. Nether regions all tingly and they're lashing out

Just because someone doesn’t agree with Ms. Jenner’s transformation doesn’t mean they felt some “tingle” that is quite possibly one of the stupidest tweets I have ever seen. Everyone wants their opinions to be respected but only if you agree with them, if you don’t then they say stupid, ignorant, low brow stuff like that.
Don’t try to FORCE your opinions down someone throat. Act like an adult for once and not someone fishing for RTs and acceptance on social media.
Don’t be a hypocrite, I’m watching.
