Say what you want about Marshawn Lynch, but he’s a guy most players on every team would take in a heart beat.
Lockette scared the Seahawks and a national TV Audience when he laid motionless on the AT&T Stadium turf for what seemed like an hour.
The Seahawks utility player underwent successful neck surgery on Monday that lasted more than six hours at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
While the rest of the Seahawks returned to Seattle to begin preparations for their next game, Marshawn Lynch and Russell Okung reportedly skipped the team flight so they could be with Lockette post-surgery on Monday.
he News Tribune has learned running back Marshawn Lynch and left tackle Russell Okung stayed behind in Dallas overnight Sunday into Monday to be with Lockette while the rest of the Seahawks flew home. Seattle’s wide receiver and special-teams ace also has his family from Georgia, who attended Sunday’s 13-12 win over the Cowboys, and a team trainer plus staffer there with him at Baylor Medical Center in the aftermath of a hit he never saw by Dallas safety Jeff Heath during a punt. The blow high on his chest immediately crumbled Lockette, left him motionless on the field for many minutes and then strapped to a stretcher with his helmet still on.
It was an awesome gesture by both men, but only speaks to the kind of person Lynch really is, regardless of his interaction with the media.
