Marcus Lattimore’s football career was tragically cut short due to several injuries, but he hasn’t let that stop him from moving on with his life and ambitions.
Lattimore returned to South Carolina to finish up his degree, and after doing so Will Muschamp will bring him onto his staff in a leader ship role.
Here are the details from TheState.com:
A source close to Lattimore confirmed Wednesday night that the Gamecocks’ all-time leader in touchdowns will join Muschamp’s staff in May 2016.
Lattimore will not be a coach – instead, he will talk to the Gamecocks about life off the field beyond football, similar to what he does in his leadership academies through his foundation.
Lattimore can’t officially join the staff until he graduates in May, but he will serve a role that allows him to be around the program without the time-consuming rigors of an assistant coach.
It’s a shame we will never get to see what Marcus Lattimore could have been on the football field, but it is awesome that he is moving forward with his life and trying to help and motivate others.
