St. Louis Offers NFL $150 Million for New Stadium to Keep Rams (Photos)

St. Louis is doing everything in its power to keep the Rams from going to Los Angeles and their latest attempt may be the one that ultimately keeps their football team at home.

The city of St. Louis has approved the spending of $150 million dollars for a new football stadium. The NFL would have to put up the other $300 million dollars for the new venue but the fact that the city is willing to invest it’s own money shows that the city still supports their team.

St. Louis stadium task force chairmen David Peacock and Robert Blitz feel as though this latest decision is a small victory for the city.

“We now have more work to do to prepare our St. Louis stadium proposal for delivery ahead of the NFL’s deadline of December 30,” the statement says. “We recognize that our proposal will require extensive review before it is considered for approval by the NFL. We are confident that it will be well received.”

The Rams were one of the teams looking to relocate to Los Angeles in the coming years. For the team to relocate they’d need a 66% approval vote from the other NFL owners, this stadium propsal made that vote less of a sure thing.
