Enner Valencia is a striker for Everton in the Premier League and he is also a star on the Ecuador National team, but his true calling might be – criminal mastermind escape artist. According to authorities in Ecuador, Enner owed $17,000 dollars in child support payments and when he returned to play a World Cup qualifier against Chile, the authorities were waiting to arrest him.
Valencia was met by police along with the lawyer representing the mother of his child after a morning training session, hoping to arrest Valencia and force him to pay. However, several officers refused to detain him even after stopping the team bus looking to look for him.

He was not detained at that time and was allowed to play the in the match vs Chile helping his team to a 3-0 lead, when he left the pitch with an injury. Apparently, Valencia faked the injury and instructed the golf cart to take him to an ambulance waiting in the stadium tunnel where he escaped any further interaction with police.
The lawyer for the mother of his child responded with the following:
It’s lamentable that certain police officers didn’t collaborate with the detention of the footballer Enner Valencia, to ensure compliance with a judicial order.” “If they say this man earns so much, why doesn’t he pay (the maintenance) monthly to his daughter,”
Some may call him a dead-beat dad, but I like to think of him as resourceful and misunderstood. At this point, don’t be surprised to see Valencia disguised as the referee for his next match in Ecuador.
