Ready for more early Sunday morning NFL games? If you answered no, it doesn’t matter because its happening anyway!
According to NFL.com, fans can gear up to see more international games next year. The NFL announced Friday morning, that the league has expanded the London series to four games.
“We continue to be incredibly excited by the passion and love for the NFL shown by our millions of UK fans,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “London is an amazing city. We have had tremendous support from our fans, from Mayor Khan and other government leaders and business partners, and we are looking forward to taking the next step in the UK by playing four games in London next season.”
And while it seems that American ratings have decreased, Goodell seems to find them alive and well in London. According to the NFL, ratings have doubled since 2007 and with sold out venues, adding a fourth games seemed like the sensible thing to do. Have to meet demand, right? Announcement of team matchups will be revealed December 13 at 1pm.
What do you guys think about the NFL reaching international borders? Can the NFL survive without American ratings and make up for it in overseas viewership?
