LaVar Ball is aiming for the big bucks! The boisterous father of NBA lottery pick Lonzo Ball has his eye on the $200 tier for his son’s Big Baller Brand shoe debut.
LaVar is still searching for a business partner for his Big Baller Brand merchandise and apparel. It is no questions that Lonzo can ball no pun intended, but which big brand shoe company would be willing to make such a high price sneaker deal?
Per Nick DePaula of The Vertical, Ball’s brand is “targeting the $200 tier for its debut Big Baller Brand basketball sneaker.”
ESPN.com‘s Darren Rovell reported April 30 that Nike, Under Armour and Adidas are not interested in an endorsement deal with Lonzo due to LaVar’s insistence “they license his upstart Big Baller Brand from him.”
And with starting prices compared to LeBron’s most expensive sneaker sold by Nike at $220, that’s a pretty high starting point.
Ball intends to test out all markets, including in China and possibly an “entrepreneurial partner” that will help give him the platform needed to market the sneakers and other apparel from the Big Baller Brand.

Although Adidas has not closed the door on a potential deal with LaVar and the Big Baller Brand.
” Adidas, which sponsored UCLA this past season along with the Chino Hills (Calif.) High School basketball team that features younger Ball brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo, has yet to formally discuss a shoe deal with Ball Sports Group. “It’s not dead yet,” a brand source told The Vertical. An official meeting would potentially take place in the coming weeks, with the brand not yet ruling out making a standard endorsement offer.”
