Prior to a Kennesaw State football game last week, 3 cheerleaders took a knee during the playing of the anthem. The protest sparked poignant criticism from local sheriff Neil Warren “who couldn’t believe his eyes” as he observed the cheerleaders kneeling in opposition of police brutality and racism.
“My wife, Penny, had tears in her eyes, and we were both shocked to see such a lack of respect for our flag, our national anthem and the men and women that serve our nation,” Warren said. Warren said the cheerleaders were taking a knee “on the very soil that men and women have died overseas to protect.”
“Cobb County has lost sons and daughters at home and on foreign lands while protecting America,” he said. “And to witness these ill-informed students acting this way clearly tells me KSU needs to get busy educating these students on more than just passing their classes. They need to learn all that the flag truly represents.”
Truly amazing how peaceful protest with an objective clear as day can continuously be spun and diluted. I am highly doubtful his wife cried tears upon witnessing police gun down Patrick Harmon in the back. According to Activist Shaun King, local law enforcement have gone out of their way to harass the three cheerleaders at their home.

Truly despicable and simultaneously proving the entire point of the protest. It’s not about the flag or the anthem. Abuse of power against minorities remains the core of the issue and on full display with the recent shooting of Patrick Harmon.
