The Denver Nuggets’ win last night over the Oklahoma City Thunder was a thriller with Gary Harris knocking down a game-winning three ball at the end of regulation. Controversy followed at the conclusion of the game as a fan heckled Russell Westbrook while being in his face. Westbrook pushed him as a result.
Today, the NBA announced that Westbrook would not be punished for the altercation. As far as the heckling fan, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne said that sources confirm that the fan is now banned from all NBA games. Law enforcement also issued a summons and complaint for trespassing.
The NBA seemed to have dealt with this situation the correct way. Fans in attendance have no right to act in this manner and if players retaliate in any form, it is expected.
