The average age of a baseball fan is 53, NFL 47 and NBA 37. There is a reason why NBA seems a lot cooler than all other sports; they reach out to a younger demographic.
You know why young people and specifically young people of color don’t watch baseball?
Here is exhibit A via FTW.
The Braves want Acuna to wear his hat straight and maintain a professional appearance while in uniform. But they do not want to change much about the fun-loving, flamboyant approach that has made him one of the game’s most exciting young players.
“The main thing he needs to remember is keep your head straight and respect [your surroundings],” Jones said. “Be humble, but a humble-cocky.”
It is a DAMN HAT, that is slightly tilted to the side mainly because of his hair, seriously?
Professionalism and respect are something that everyone should have, but it shouldn’t be judged by the way you wear your hat. No one says white players aren’t professional when they got a Bray Wyatt beard with sunflower seeds dripping from it.
Terrible from the Braves, I hope he goes to a team at some point who doesn’t judge people based on hat tilts.
