Tyron Woodley recently told TMZ Sports that Floyd Mayweather is looking to fight in UFC and and Mayweather’s security also added that he is a solid wrestler and should not be taken lightly. Woodley recently caught up with TMZ Sports again and revealed when Mayweather will be scheduled to begin his MMA training.
Mayweather will begin working with Woodley next week. Woodley praised Mayweather’s boxing skill set of his ability to avoid punches and it will be able to translate into the octagon to avoid major takedowns and other wrestling attempts. They will also work with Mayweather on how to quickly bounce back from a takedown in order to immediately get back into the fight.
Woodley also noted that there is no rush for Mayweather to be an elite MMA athlete. He also believes that Mayweather can handle his own with anybody in UFC.
“He does not have to go out there and start learning how to kick like Bruce Lee. He does not have to go out there and become a black belt over night.”
Woodley concluded by saying that they will go over some strategies before they meet up next week to discuss what other aspects they will need to work on.
