“Garrett Guys”
That is a phrase that you are going to be hearing a lot after Dez Bryant said this in an NFL Network interview.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with NFL Network’s Jane Slater, Bryant blamed “Garrett guys” for playing a big role in ending his eight-year career in Dallas.
“I’ll say this right here. I believe that “Garrett guys.” I would say that,” said in response to a question from Slater on the idea that some teammates had a role in the decision to release him.
“I won’t put no names out, but they know, and I want them to know. I know,” Bryant said. “I’ll shoot them a text message and let them know. Little do they know is, you know, they can wear that “C” all they want to, but in that locker room, they know they run, and they talk to. They know who they communicate with. Everybody knows where the real love is at. I’m not throwing anybody under the bus, but that’s the difference between them and me.”
The question is who are the Garrett Guys?
Obviously, by saying Garrett Guys, Dez is implying that Jason Garrett didn’t want him around, that much is clear. Jason Witten has long been known as a Garrett guy even back from the days Witten and Romo helped get TO out of Dallas, and Witten and Dez have had some disagreements in the past. Sean Lee is also known to be a Garrett Guy, but the implication from Dez was that these were players on the offensive side of the ball.
The real question is Dak Prescott a Garrett Guy and stabbed Dez in the back.
They both said the right thing in public, but never really clicked on the field. Whatever the case the locker seemed to be fractured and now we have to see with Dez went will that lead to more wins for Cowboys?
