Andre Rison’s case for making the Pro Football Hall of Fame was always iffy, but he did rack up over 10,00 receiving yards, 84 touchdowns, and 743 receptions over his 12 seasons in the NFL. Rison was definitely not a scrub, but there has been little consensus among sportswriters that Rison is a Hall of Famer. In fact, he hasn’t been able to get on a HOF ballot since he retired.
For all the great performances Rison gave us early in his career that led him to four Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl championship with the Packers, like T.O. he became known as a diva wide receiver during the second half of his career. Fair or not, those later years and the perception he created has influenced HOF voters, and this is the reason why Rison is blaming Owens for making it hard for him to even get on the ballot.
