Probably a good move to proactively reach out to police before they came to him. Vick’s attorney clarified a few things about the night of the shooting.
More and more it is looking like Phillips was the person causing the issue, and at some point Vick realized it could be a problem and left.
As I just wrote, the problem isn’t so much with Vick’s action after Phillips started causing problems. It is the fact that Vick shouldn’t have been throwing such a public party in the first place. It was that bad decision that lead to Phillips being able to get that close to him.
Here are some additional details from Vick’s lawyer:
Vick called police and answered questions about the night in question, which started with his birthday party, his attorney told the Hampton Roads Virginian-Pilot. Lawrence H. Woodward Jr. gave no specifics of the conversation, according to the newspaper.
“Michael voluntarily cooperated with the investigation, went in on his own and answered all the police detective’s questions,” Woodward said Monday, according to the Virginian-Pilot.
For Vick’s sake, hopefully his story checks out and that will be the end of it … but in the interim keep the parties limited to the family BBQ.
