Following his release from the Los Angeles Chargers, free agent receiver Mike Williams will visit with the Carolina Panthers the following week, according to Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer.
Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports that Williams and Carolina will play on Tuesday:
Per source, WR Mike Williams will be meeting with the #Panthers on Tuesday. He meets with the #Jets on Monday.

Williams, who has spent his whole seven-year career with the Chargers, saw limited action last season due to an ACL injury, but he still managed 249 receiving yards and a touchdown.
On Wednesday, the Chargers cut him, sparing Los Angeles $20 million against the salary cap. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network claims that a Chargers comeback is still possible.
Mike Williams and His Injury Ridden Few Years
Williams is willing to return to Los Angeles, but not before testing the market. His career will be marked by this being his first unrestricted free agent signing.
He has missed 18 games in the last two years, thus the Chargers can no longer afford to pay him his previous salary due to his large budget hit.
Mike Williams has established himself as a formidable danger to opposing defenses when healthy. With his most recent season occurring in 2021, he has recorded two seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards. Williams, who is 29 years old, is still very much a player, so a team wanting to add some receiving depth might find him to be a good fit.

If Williams can stay healthy, the Panthers could need a boost after finishing with a league-worst 2-15 record. In addition to Adam Thielen and Diontae Johnson, Carolina might benefit greatly from having another experienced target as quarterback Bryce Young continues to adjust to life in the NFL.
