The Tennessee Volunteers have gone through what many deem an embarrassing search for a new head coach.
The Vols have flirted with Jon Gruden, Louisville head coach Charlie Strong interviewed but declined, and Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy declined the offer.
Wes Rucker of govols247 is reporting that Butch Jones will leave his current post at Cincinnati, and accept the head coaching position at UT.
The 44-year-old Jones went 23-14 in 3 seasons at Cincinnati, after replacing current Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly.
He will be introduced today during a 2:30 p.m. EST press conference at Neyland Stadium.
Jones had been rumored to have accepted the Colorado job yesterday, but we now see why those rumors were false.
