Do you remember Dr. Love?
He was the teenager who someone fooled adults into thinking he was an actual doctor, and he ended up scamming them out of thousands of dollars.
In the end, it could have been a lot worse.
Twenty-year-old Malachi Love-Robinson was sentenced to one year in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to fraud charges according to the AJC.
The viral sensation was arrested in February 2016 in Palm Beach County, after he allegedly gave medical advice and a physical exam to an undercover officer.
Love-Robinson was allegedly practicing without a license in an office at the West Palm Medical Plaza, where he scammed an elderly woman of nearly $35,000 after examining her after she complained of stomach pains.
He was then arrested for fraud, after tried to illegally buy a $35,000 Jaguar NBC reported.
Dr. Love is headed back to jail for a different scam.
“Doctor Love,” the teen doctor who made headlines for practicing medicine without a license is going back to prison on fraud charges.
Malachi Love-Robinson, now 25, pleaded guilty to grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.
Last month, a judge sentenced Love-Robinson to 28 months in prison followed by two years of probation.
The charges stem from an investigation in March 2020 when the owner of United States of Freight, a shipping broker in Delray Beach, accused Love-Robinson of rerouting payments from the business to his personal accounts.
In 2018, two years after police first arrested Love-Robinson, he pleaded guilty to six different charges and received three-and-a-half years in prison. Investigators said he set up a holistic medical practice in West Palm Beach and stole more than $30,000 from a patient, and another $20,000 from a doctor’s account.
The real question is, how hasn’t this been turned into a Netflix documentary yet?
How many more scams does he have to pull off before I can see this on a streaming service?
