Team USA Striker Jozy Altidore, looks to be on track for the Belgium match. Altidore, who made a name for himself with the New York Red Bulls, pulled his hamstring in the Group Stage against Ghana. Though some feared the worst, coach Jurgen Klinsmann has added some optimism to the situation:
We are very optimistic. Every day is a big step forward with Jozy. It’s 11 days now (since the injury happened) and it’s looking better every day. We are optimistic to have him being part of the Belgium game. -via Tim Keeny, Bleacher Report
Altidore has been seen jogging on the sideline by reporters all week. On a positive note, defensive midfielder Jermaine Jones, who has a broken nose, will play against Belgium. It is imperative that the US has all hands on deck during the knockout stage. Hopefully, we can pull out another win.
