Tyronn Lue has been fingered in the poker games scandal led by mafias and it doesn’t look good for his reputation.
The cool, calm coach who’s known for keeping his composure courtside is now being dragged into a rigged poker game scandal. Yes, apparently, the man might’ve been sitting at a table where the games were being rigged.
Now, the scandal has taken another turn amid a report alleging that Clippers head coach Lue was also at one of the alleged rigged poker games with Billups.
According to Torre, who has extensively reported on the scandal, the game took place in April 2019 and both Billups and Lue were used as ‘face cards’.
On his show, ‘Pablo Torre Finds Out’, he said: ‘Here’s the open secret around the NBA: Ty Lue lives in Vegas during the offseason. He also loves poker.
‘He’s often seen at what many insiders consider the nexus of the NBA poker world—the Aria High Limit Bar—often alongside another retired NBA player: Damon Jones’.
Torre alleges that Lue ‘did not play’ at the same table as Billups but was present at the game.
Now, to be fair, no one’s saying Tyronn was in on the scam. He’s just being accused of attending one of these shady sessions. Still, the internet doesn’t care as they’re having a field day.
In true Tyronne Lue fashion, he’s kept quiet so far, no public statement, no tweet, nothing. He’s probably hoping this whole thing folds and go away.
Whether Tyronn Lue knew anything or was just there for some friendly cards and snacks, time will tell. But one thing’s for sure, this is one poker game that’s got the entire basketball world shaking.
