For 12 NFL seasons London Fletcher has been a model of consistency for three franchises (Rams,Bills & Redskins). While other more flashy linebackers received a lot more press, Fletcher just went out and did his job every Sunday. In that regard he is one of the most under-publicized stars of the last decade.
One thing that I hope that isn’t overlooked is Fletcher’s “London’s Bridge” foundation. At a time where a lot of our youth are going down the wrong path, Fletcher is trying to build a “bridge” to help the inequities facing underprivileged and underrepresented children. It is a mentoring program that builds standards of education, leadership, teamwork, and recreation while instilling values of volunteerism and philanthropy.
There was a wonderful article in the Washington Post about all the things the London is doing and we at BlackSportsOnline support his efforts 100%. So check out the the Post article as well as the London’s Bridge website and see if there is anything you can do to help, trust me every little bit helps.
