Weekends like this make life worth it!!! This weekend didn’t disappoint one bit. The NFL kicked off for real, The NBA inducted a new Hall of Fame class, and apparently the MLB Pennant race is heating up (I’m trying to be fair). I would talk about Serena, but she isnt about to nut up on me.
The NFL
The Good? Drew Brees’s six touchdowns, Adrian Peterson distancing himself from the rest of the backs in the league (along with the Browns Defense), Tony Romo throwing for 300+, The 49ers defeating the Cardinals (this win will matter down the road, trust), and Marc Sanchez’s debut
The Bad? Jake Delhomme (10 INTs in the last two games), The St. Louis Rams, The Ravens allowing Kansas City 24 points, Urlacher breaking his wrist last night (out for the season), Jason Campbell (dude, you seriously need to get it together.)
The Ugly? The way the Bengals lost the game (great catch by Stokely), The St. Louis Rams, The fight between Santana Moss and Corey Webster, and Donovan McNabb cracking a rib (God has a way of making things seem ironic doesn’t he?)
NBA Hall of Fame
The Good? The entire class. Each person in their own right earned their spot that night. Especially C. Vivian Stringer who proved to women across the world that you don’t have to be Tila Tequila in order to be of value to society.
The Bad? Michael Jordan. He went out off the court, the same way he did on court – Leaving everyone scratching their heads. His speech was garbage and basically gave the basketball world his butt to kiss. You would expect him to deliver a memorable speech. And he did. Just not the way his fans deserved.
The Ugly? This distinction goes to Michael Jordan as well. Due to the way he picked on everyone, I want all his fans to acknowledge that MJ has been kept quiet for a reason. He was able to say that night, what he hasn’t been able to say since he became the Icon that he is. I never expected him to be perfect, but a lot of his fans did. If you can’t see that Mr. Jordan lacks humility, then you are blind. Think about the next time Kobe does something that is considered selfish. Mike didn’t even acknowledge his date for the evening who he is supposedly in love with.
MLB
The Wild Card race is heating up in both the American and National League. The Red Sox beat the Rays, and San Fran is trying to make up some ground in the NL. This may be the first time I follow a pennant race closely. It should be worth it.
College Football Week 2
There were some great games this weekend. USC barely outlast Ohio State, UCLA got a piece of Tennessee, and Houston put up serious numbers against OK State. I dont want to hear anything about Tebow. They played Troy. The BSO team could suit up against Troy and win by at least 4 scores (all Field Goals).
