My sources told me it was highly unlikely that Brett Favre would have been able to play on Sunday, but that wasn’t dramatic enough for the Football Gods.
The Giants are currently stuck in Kansas City because of a blizzard and the NFL didn’t think it would be prudent to force them to play tomorrow:
Here’s what NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced on the matter via Twitter: “Due to severe weather conditions and on the recommendation of Metrodome officials, the Giants-Vikings game will be moved to Monday night. KO time @ Metrodome + TV arrangements will be announced as soon as they are determined.”
The drama now will be if the extra day gives Brett Favre’s shoulder enough time to heal.
From experience we know that Favre loves the spotlight, so the story of him coming out armdangling like he has been shot and then throwing for 300 yards on Monday Night, will be too great of a motivation for Favre to sit.
If he has to call up Victor Conte tonight to get a shipment of that “Barry Bonds”, expect him on the field Monday night.
