Margaret Hurt The Woman Who Accused Jeff Teague & Gary Clark of Rape at WF

Surprisingly (not really) the story Miss Hurt told to the Today Show is vastly different than the story she told police.  The police didn’t even pursue charges because Miss Hurt agreed that a University hearing would suffice, because when you are a victim of a sexual assault who wants to try to put the offenders in jail.

Here are the details.

Michael Grace, a Winston-Salem attorney who represents both Clark and Teague, said in a statement that the players are “stunned and outraged by the allegations.”

“That NBC would provide Ms. Hurt with a forum to air her story to millions – a story which is dramatically different from any story she has told in the past – without giving both Gary and Jeff an opportunity to respond, is tragic and will adversely affect them for years to come,” Grace said.

Grace said neither he nor either player will make any further statements “until a proper forum can be identified to ensure a proper and full airing of all the facts.”

He said Clark and Teague “are strongly evaluating potential legal action against both Ms. Hurt and NBC.”

I think it was irresponsible on NBC’s part as well.  If you are going to allow someone to make these type of accusations you allow the other side to speak and you don’t make it one sided.

No one knows what really happened, but part of being in the media is being fair and the Today Show was not fair to Teague and Clark.  Simply a ratings grab that they should be ashamed of because they have slandered these guys names.
