A few weeks back Joey Harrington was hit by a SUV while riding a bike. He is ok now but he is telling the story of how it all went down. While doing so, he take a minor shot at the Lions.
Profootballtalk.com has the details.
Former Lions quarterback Joey Harrington was hospitalized two weeks ago when he got hit by an SUV while riding his bike. He’s now feeling better, and using the experience as an opportunity to make a joke about Detroit.
“I was laying in the ER. I’m in the neck brace on the board and just sayin, ‘Get me out of here,’” Harrington told KGW in Portland. “I kinda whispered to one of the trauma docs, ‘I played four years in Detroit. I can handle a car. Let’s get this thing moving.’”
Harrington ended up with a broken collarbone and punctured lung. He is very lucky to be alive and maybe his time with the Lions cause him to have tougher skin.
The Lions have been so bad for so long you have to wonder if they are cursed. If you think about it they are the last of the really downtrodden franchises not to have any success at all. The Saints and Bucs have turned their franchises around and have won Super Bowls.
Even the Bengals had a few winning seasons and a couple of division titles.
Every year is suppose to be the Lions breakout year, I guess one year it will be true.
It’s so cold in the D.
