Michael Vick used to be the brightest star the NFL had to showcase. Of course we all know how that story went, but Vick has done a good job rebuilding his image since 2007. But not every road to redemption is paved smoothly.
J.O. Sports Company is suing Vick for $100,000 for what they claim is a breach of contract. According to Jarrod Oldridge, the owner of J.O. Sports Company, Vick failed to provide game-worn equipment and skipped out on private autograph signings. However, there is always two sides to the story and according to Michael Vick the contract was ended once Mr. Oldridge was indicted for fraud. That fraud charge included falsifying and doctoring jerseys to make them appear game worn.
In a statement released by Vick he said, “My primary concern is for my fans. If my fans want to buy game-used memorabilia, it is important that the merchandise is 100 percent authentic. “
Mr. Oldridge has recently pleaded guilty to mail fraud, which makes him a felon. Vick’s probation prohibits contact with felons. Seems like a good reason for Vick to void the deal. Only time will tell if the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback finds himself back inside of a courtroom.
