The New york Knicks are under pressure to win now.
Everyone loves to talk about windows being open or closing, but this team needs to perform now.
NBA legend Walt Frazier is someone who can speak about winning and who has walked the walk winning two titles during his Knicks career.
During a ceremony in honor for the sight seeing bus company Gray Line New York, Frazier chimed in on this Knicks team, specifically Carmelo Anthony via the New York Times.
Frazier thinks the Knicks got better by acquiring Jason Kidd, Raymond Felton, and Marcus Camby.
When asked about their championship mettle, Frazier stated “I think their window is a two-year window right now.”
“They have to capitalize right away.”
Frazier also referred back to the chemistry he had with Willis Reed and Bill Bradley, and would like to see the same from Amar’e and Carmelo.
“They better forget last year and do whatever it takes.”
“They have to look at Miami and what LeBron James was able to do, Carmelo especially because James became the consummate player — defense, passing and whatever else it took for that team to get a championship.”
I thought coming out of Syracuse that Melo would be a far better player than Lebron. Obviously I was wrong, but Carmelo will at some point need to use his total skill set for this Knicks team to actually flourish.
