New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is as gritty and as fiery a competitor you will ever see.
Brady has no problem talking the talk, because most of the time he’ll walk the walk.
Sunday the Patriots lost a disappointing thriller to the surprising Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman and Brady engaged in some verbal back and forth with Sherman having the last laugh after the victory.
Sherman took to twitter after the game Sunday and made himself a viral sensation with his now famous “U Mad Bro” post.
Brady was asked about the barrage of words and finally respond courtesy of NFL.com via a Digital Global Sports interview.
“Sherman’s a very good player, and I have a lot of respect for that defense and certainly that secondary.”
“They play very well together. My dad taught me at a young age to play with class and respect and give my opponents respect, and certainly I have a lot of respect for the Seahawks.”
Brady was asked by Jim Gray if he felt the Seahawks and in particular Sherman gave him and the Patriots the proper respect.
“My dad also told me to worry about the things that I can control and certainly not worry about the things that I can’t,” Brady said. “And I really don’t have feelings either way toward what someone may say or think. Really, what’s important is how I feel. We went out and we played a very good team on the road and had an opportunity to win there in the fourth quarter and just didn’t take advantage of it.”
Brady at any point could have resorted to ring protection and gave the ether to Richard Sherman.
He chose to take the high road on the matter and that’s good, but for all the noise Sherman is making, I hope he realizes Brady passed for almost 400 yards.
