Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has had a rough final few weeks. After being benched, Sanchez has had to deal with numerous reports of his time ending as a Jet and the team trying to get rid of him.
While his pricey contract may make parting ways difficult for the Jets, it appears Mark Sanchez knows where he wants to be in 2013. And it’s right in New York.
Per ESPN:
“Of course, of course,” Sanchez said. ”I mean, this is where it all started, this is where we’ve had a bunch of fun playing a ton of games, almost 40 wins for Rex (Ryan) and I. We know we can be successful here, so hopefully things work out. If not, I just can’t speculate. We’ll see.”
“Coach Ryan is a fighter,” Sanchez said. “He wants this thing bad, just like I do. We’ve had our taste of success here, a couple of deep playoff runs where we were really a quarter or a half away from a Super Bowl, almost twice.”
One has to appreciate the honesty, but I also feel bad for the Jets.
Due $8.25 million next year, Sanchez won’t be going anywhere.
