Emeka Okafor says Wizards Record doesn’t Reflect their Ability

Emeka Okafor says Wizards Record doesn’t Reflect their Ability The Washington Wizards are just 8-29 at this point in the season. A record that by no means indicates that they’re a team to be reckoned with or have playoff aspirations. However, if you look closely things have begun to change in Washington with the return of point guard John Wall.

Winning 4 out of their last 5 games, hopes are up in the Wizards locker room. Specifically the hopes of one Emeka Okafor who let it be known that this is a different team despite what their record says.

Per Michael Lee of the Washington Post: “Our record isn’t reflective of who we are, how we’ve played and how we’re playing,” said Okafor.

We’re starting to turn the corner, winning four out of five and feeling good. Starting to close games with confidence.”

Obviously a larger sample size is what will get the league to take notice, but I understand Okafor’s premise.

Confidence in the team is the first step towards turning around the Wizards. We’ll have to see if their recent stretch of strong play continues.
