Yesterday we reported on the rumor that was circulating on the USC Trojans players being involved in a wild brawl between themselves following their embarrassing Sun Bowl loss to Georgia Tech.
Southern Cal head coach Lane Kiffin is now disputing that claim, saying that “his players argued with each other after the loss, but no punches were thrown,” via College Football Talk.
“Contrary to media reports, there was not a brawl or altercation in our locker room after the Sun Bowl,” the statement from Kiffin began. “There was a noisy verbal exchange among a couple players who were frustrated with the outcome of the game. It lasted less than a minute and was nothing physical.”
“It happens sometimes in football locker rooms after a disappointing loss.”
Lane can deem the situation what he wants, but he better get control of his team now, because another lack luster season will leave him out of a job, and I’m not sure he’ll get another one.
