By now we have all seen the video or GIF of Redskins offensive lineman Trent Williams mushing Seahawks Richard Sherman in the face.
Sherman took time to explain the altercation to USA Today, and Sherman putting it in layman terms, “said Williams told him he’d swing on him, and Sherman basically dared him to.”
“He came up and tapped me, ‘What’s up now? I’ll swing on you’,” Sherman told USA TODAY.
“Swing!” Sherman said he told Williams in a daring tone. “He told me was going to swing, and he swung. That’s what he did, and that’s that. He thought I was going to be scared. I’m not scared.”
The 6’5 Williams landed more of a mush than a punch, but the result was still the same. Sherman was asked if it was from trash talk throughout the game, or just a buildup of all the talk he’s done this season.
“I guess so,” he said. “You know, the playoffs, everybody gets a little frustrated. You lose, your season’s over. I guess you can call it frustration. But you never want to be involved in that. I wasn’t looking for anything. I was trying to shake hands. That’s how it happens sometimes.”
I can appreciate the fact that Sherman is going to be who he is going to be, it also helps that he can ball.
Here is the video again for those who may have missed it.
