When you are the talk of the college football world, and the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, everything you do is a big deal.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that a judge in Ennis, Texas is facing disciplinary action after he took to Facebook to brag and make light of the fact that Johnny Manziel got a speeding ticket in his city.
Ennis is a small city about 35 miles south of Dallas. Manziel reportedly received the ticket recently and the judge, W. Lee Johnson, went on Facebook to brag making these silly remarks.
”a certain unnamed (very) recent Heisman Trophy winner received a ticket in our city recently.”
Ennis City Manager Steve Howerton released a brief statement on the matter.
Judge W. Lee Johnson’s Facebook post was ”insensitive and inappropriate.”
”Receiving a traffic ticket is not a humorous matter,” Howerton said. ”Further, it is not the policy of the city of Ennis to indiscriminately publish the identity of traffic ticket recipients or to publicly lecture them.”
