A jury has found New England Patriots rookie Alfonzo Dennard guilty of the felony charge of assaulting a police officer and the misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.
Dennard was arrested just days before the NFL Draft when he punched a police officer in the face during a bar fight in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The 2011 Big Ten defensive back of the year was drafted out of Nebraska by the Patriots despite the charge and went on to play in ten games and start six as a rookie.
Dennard faces up to five years in prison at sentencing.
