President Obama Acknowledges Alabama Recruit With Auburn Tattoo

Reuben Foster President Obama Tattoo

Most of us who follow college football recruiting knew that the story of Alabama signee Reuben Foster’s recruitment would generate conversation outside of college football recruiting circles.  After all, it’s not often that you see a player sign with Alabama after getting an Auburn tattoo.

However, even with that understanding, I don’t think any of us expected President Obama to mention Foster (and his tattoo) when he placed a phone call to Ravens headquarters on Tuesday to congratulate Baltimore on their Super Bowl win.

That’s probably why Ravens coach John Harbaugh looked a tad bit surprised with President Obama referenced Foster while chatting with Ravens general manager Newsome (Alabama alum) about Alabama’s upcoming visit to The White House in recoginition of their BCS title win.  You can see John Harbaugh and Ozzie Newsome’s conference call with President Obama here courtesy of BaltimoreRavens.com via AJC.com.

Impressive.  Are you ready to take the President seriously when he’s says he’s a sports fan now?
