Nnamdi Asomugha is due $15.5 million from the Eagles next season, $4 million which is guaranteed. Chip Kelly and Eagles brass are waiting for Asomugha to decide if he’ll restructure his deal to remain with the team.
Regardless of what Asomugha does, Chip Kelly thinks Nnamdi is an outstanding person according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“We’ve done film evaluation, and our staff and [general manager] Howie [Roseman] will sit down together and see where we’ll move forward,” Kelly said. “But as a person, I think he’s outstanding.”
“I think Nnamdi has the skill set … that can play football,” he said.
Nnamdi can be as outstanding a person you’ll find, but his skill have declined, and if he doesn’t take a pay cut, he’ll be outstanding somewhere else.
