UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson, became one of my favorite fighters last night and interestingly enough, it was because of what he did after his fight, than what he did during it.
Henderson, retained his championship in controversial fashion last night when he defeated contender Gilbert Melendez by split decision with many experts disagreeing with the judges’ decision.
The crowd also wasn’t very happy with the decision and voiced their displeasure by booing vociferously in the aftermath.
Henderson didn’t seem to hear them though, he had more important things on his mind. He interrupted an interview with Joe Rogan, gave a great speech then proposed to his girlfriend Maria Magana, who said yes.
