Yankees Pay Tribute To Boston Marathon Victims By Playing ‘Sweet Caroline’

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at New York Yankees

The New York Yankees will pay tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy during Tuesday night’s game vs the Diamondbacks in the Bronx.

Via USA Today the Yankees announced Sweet Caroline, the iconic Neil Diamond song which famously blasts throughout Fenway during the bottom of the 8th inning. The song will play in Yankee Stadium at the end of the 3rd inning, which will then be followed by a moment of silence for those who perished.

Also in tribute to the city the club mounted a flag with both NY and Boston logos with ‘United We Stand’ written prominently.

If ever there was a time for the two rival teams to come together, surely now is that time. Classy move by New York.
