Buckeye Recruit Vonn Bell: God Told Me To Go To Ohio State

Five star free safety Vonn Bell was always assumed to be a lock for a South Eastern Conference power.  Bell who attended Ridgeland High School in Georgia, was either supposed to land at Alabama, or his childhood favorite, Tennessee.

Something weird happened two days before national signing day.  Bell who wasn’t sure where he wanted to go to school told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that God woke him up out of his sleep and told him a few times, that he wanted Bell to attend Ohio State.

“I didn’t really have any secrets. I kept everything all open with everybody. But about the biggest secret was probably keeping it secret (about Ohio State) until signing day. The first two days (before signing day), I just woke up out of my dreams. Me and God just had a conversation. He said ‘I want you go to Ohio State.’ Then I just knew ever since then. That was probably the longest time I ever kept a secret, those two days.”

“He just woke me up in the middle of my sleep, and I just heard ‘Ohio State’ in my head. I just listened to it, and stuck with it. Ohio State was in my heart.”

“Yes. I didn’t know (which college I was going to sign with) until then. I asked God to give me a sign, and He gave me a sign. I woke up the middle of the night.”

Can’t fault Bell for going with his heart and his faith.  I can only imagine Nick Saban’s face when he heard about what caused Bell to not choose the Crimson Tide.

Urban Meyer does it again.
