Bucks Fire Head Coach Jim Boylan

Jim Boylan

In a move that will surprise no one, the Milwaukee Bucks have announced that head coach Jim Boylan, has been relieved of his duties, per Yahoo Sports.

Boylan took over for former head coach Scott Skiles during the season, and for a period, steadied a team that was on a downward spiral. The Bucks were able to back into the playoffs for the first time in three seasons, but were quickly and easily disposed of by the reigning champions Miami Heat in four games.

”At this time we feel it’s in the best interest of the organization to seek a new coach to lead our team,” general manager John Hammond said in a statement.

Boylan’s case for a return next season wasn’t helped by the fact that he failed to communicate effectively with recently acquired guard J.J. Redick during the series against Miami, and now his future with the team is in doubt. Hammond said that the search for a new coach will begin “immediately.”
